Engine Service, Repair and Maintenance

Engines are one of the main components in your vehicle. Without them, there is no way for you to get where you need to go. That's why it is so important to take care of your engine and make sure it gets the maintenance it needs to keep it running properly. At Rick's Automotive Service, we can handle all of your engine repair or replacement needs. Just check out some of the work that we do on engines.

Engine Maintenance

Preventative maintenance is the key to keeping your engine working smoothly. Engines weren't built to last forever, but you can help extend their life with preventative maintenance. In doing so, you can boost fuel economy and increase performance.

Engine Replacement

Engines convert energy into motion. This machine is what powers your vehicle. Even though an engine will normally last for a decent amount of time, there is a chance it could end up breaking down on you. If that happens, you need to bring it in and let our mechanic get to work replacing the engine for you.

Cylinder Head

The cylinder head sits above the block. It closes the top of your cylinder and forms a combustion chamber. It coordinates the airflow into and out of your vehicle's engine. If it doesn't seal off the cylinders properly, your vehicle won't get the compression it needs, making it difficult to drive.

Timing Belt

Timing belts are a crucial part of the vehicle's engine. They synchronize the crankshaft and camshaft to the valves open and close at the right time. It also prevents the piston from hitting into the valves. The best thing you can do is have the timing belt checked on a regular basis.

Cylinder Block

Cylinder blocks are the main powerhouse behind the engine. It houses the cylinders, gaskets, seals and valves inside of a cooled and lubricated crankcase. Since it is such an important part of your vehicle, it was built to last. While it might be sturdy and strong, there is still a chance that your vehicle won't start if this component fails. If you end up with a cracked block, porous block or freeze plug or core plug failure, you need to come in and see us at Rick's Automotive Service.
